Partner organisation CIPRB receives training from Dutch research expert
As part of our co-operation with Road Safety for All, dr. ir. Richard van der Horst has given a week-long training in Bangladesh. He trained road safety professionals from both our implementation partner CIPRB and other stakeholders such as the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. Richard is the Dutch expert in the area of the DOCTOR measurement methodology and observing human behaviour in traffic. This will be the leading methodology for our Monitoring and Evaluation program.
His view on the visit: ‘Safe Crossings has chosen the right locations and their approach is exactly what is needed. I was pleased to see that the DOCTOR methodology is well suited to measure the impact of the Safe Crossings program. It was fun to share our knowledge with the professional and dedicated team of CIPRB.’
Dr Fazlur Rahman, Director of CIPRB, concluded: ‘This kind of knowledge transfer is very valuable and we will definitely use it in practice’.
